Fantastic $30 Cartography Humble Bundle Is a Virtual Tabletop Game Master's Fantasy

Following a short availability back in April, the Map Making Mega Bundle is back with an encore available until Dec. 2. Described as a "treasure trove of assets and apps" created by ProFantasy Software throughout their history, the complete package is valued at over $1,300. Additionally, there exist three different bundles offered in this deal.

The Main Attraction

The big draw is certainly a lifetime license for Campaign Cartographer 3+, an industry-standard cartography program which enables users to generate various types including fantasy overworld maps, smaller regional maps, city maps, and most notably, tactical combat environments.

Bundle Tiers

Entry Level

The cheapest bundle tier, at a minimum cost of $1, includes only four from the thirty-nine available products: Symbol Set 1: Fantasy Overland, Token Treasury: Monsters 1, Castle Source Maps, and Source Maps: Cities!. This package suits existing CC3+ users, but it does offer new fantasy symbol styles for overworld maps, more than 750 monster tokens for use in virtual tabletops, more than two dozen top-down castle layouts including hundreds of map markers, eight fully mapped cities, plus seventy-plus building interiors.

Intermediate Package

The eight-item bundle starting at fifteen dollars is where things get more interesting by adding in permanent CC3+ access, Cartographer's Annual Vol 1, Ultimate Mapping Guidebook, Isometric Cities Symbol Pack. Cartographer's Annual is the annual collection from the company's long-running monthly subscription service featuring a variety CC3+ add-ons including map packs and additional utilities. The Isometric Cities enables display cities with an extra dimension using angled views from multiple angles. And the Tome of Ultimate Mapping is a 760-page suitable for novices and experts, packed with guidance and instructions covering cartography techniques.

Every volume from the Annual series are included here, alongside a slew of other resource and asset packs enabling creators to design entire planets or galaxies, or just go all-in on traditional fantasy world-building: battle maps, dungeons, urban centers, and continents from almost any perspective. You can even design character illustrations. For $30 as opposed to $15, the full bundle offers tremendous value, particularly for mappers who have only the annual CC3+ license and want to upgrade to lifetime. But it's obviously an even better deal for cartography beginners considering you even get the beginners' tutorials to facilitate learning. The sole limitation is that while you can redeem the deal on any platform, the software is only usable on Windows.

Philanthropic Aspect

As with other Humble Bundles, a portion of each sale goes to benefit a nonprofit. For this one, that's Save the Children, established in 1919 by Eglantyne Jebb dedicated to enhancing children's welfare globally via educational programs, medical services, and crisis response.
